Hi there, thank you for checking out my website. I’m Heather Ann and I’ve lived in the beautiful Yorkshire market town of Richmond for over half my life, raising my two boys - who, although they’re now young men, will always be ‘my boys’!
I love the outdoors - walking, hiking, and a little running, maybe one day I might even do another marathon! I treasure time and adventures spent with my family and friends and have a lifelong passion for writing and poetry. A forever friend and I recently self-published a collection of our poems: ‘Heartchord’ a testament of our love for words and friendship.
My professional background is in education- from primary school teacher and leader to education adviser. I’ve loved every part of that journey, but I reached a time when I felt ready for a change. Change was in the air with a house move and an ask from a special friend; “Heather, please will you be our celebrant?” An ask to create a bespoke celebration for their civil partnership – and so a new path started to emerge.
In February 2025 I began training to become an accredited Professional Civil Celebrant, the course heightened my love for words and the humbling value in helping people to mark life’s most meaningful moments. By November, the fireworks were filling the sky, assignments completed and a certificate delivered.
Writing and leading ceremonies that celebrate love, life and remembrance feels like the most natural extension of who I am. It’s a privilege to be invited into people’s stories and to help craft and shape the words that can bring comfort, joy and connection.
